Loneliness is as bad for your health as smoking 15 cigarettes per day! Every day in Teesside older people are alone and lonely. Currently 1.4 million people in England are chronically lonely and Age UK expects this figure to reach 2 million in the next decade if nothing is done to tackle this issue.
Age UK Teesside are campaigning to raise awareness of Isolation in Teesside with their campaign ‘March Against Loneliness’ which has been launched by Ben Houchen, Tees Valley Mayor.
‘March Against Loneliness’ is an awareness and fundraising campaign which includes the Walk Against Loneliness and the Dance Through Time Zumbathon.
