Macks Rebecca Is Proud Of Her Redcar Roots

Macks Solicitors Asbestos Specialist Rebecca Montague has over 20 years’ experience in handling personal injury claims with a specific interest in cases of mesothelioma and asbestos-related lung cancer.

Her interest stems from growing up in Redcar and seeing people in her local community (including friends and family) being diagnosed with lung cancer, asbestosis and mesothelioma.

Rebecca was born in Parkside Hospital in Middlesbrough and grew up on Kirkleatham Lane in Redcar. Rebecca and her brother attended Sacred Heart School in Redcar.

Her father and brother worked at ICI in Redcar. Many of their friends and neighbours also worked at ICI and other industries in Redcar and the surrounding area.

In 1998 she set up a team within Macks Solicitors to help people affected by industrial diseases. She ensures that time is spent with each client and their family, visiting them at home or even in hospital, if necessary, discussing when and where they were exposed to asbestos and the legal process involved in claiming compensation.

The majority of her clients are males who have worked as laggers, electricians, fitters and joiners at ICI, British Steel, local shipyards and building companies.

Over the past 20 years, Rebecca and the team at Macks have helped hundreds of men and women across Teesside and the North East recover millions of pounds in compensation after they were exposed to asbestos.

She is proud of the community in which she grew up and still spends much of her leisure time in Redcar, either walking on the beach with her family or attending the gym and pool at the local leisure centre.
