Cancer Survivor Lisa Tomlinson is well known in the region for her tireless campaigning to reduce the age for Cervical Cancer Screening in the UK… even taking the petition to Downing Street and carrying the Olympic Torch!
Now Lisa and much loved Yorkshire Terrier Mini are supporting a new service for Teesside, the Living Well Beyond Cancer Service delivered by Age UK Teesside.
Lisa explain, ‘As a survivor I loved the idea of this new service which provides a comprehensive holistic support package for people over 50 who have had the upheaval and trauma of a cancer diagnosis and treatment. The service covers everything from Welfare Advice, Complementary Therapies, Social and Support Groups, Counselling and Sign Posting focusing on Wellbeing and planning for the future’.
Lisa and Mini will be leading the way at Age UK Teesside’s Bark in the Park Dog Walk on the 22nd, July, 2018 in Preston Park, Eaglescliffe to raise awareness of this fantastic new service and raise the vital funds needed for Age UK Teesside.
To join Lisa and Mini – visit www.ageuk.org.uk/teesside to sign up, entry costs £5 per dog and they ask that each family raise sponsorship for Age UK Teesside. On the day you will also be able to sign up for the Fun Companion Dog Show for a small donation of £1 per dog per category.
