Guisborough Town are delighted to announce that they have signed former prolific scorer and KGV favourite Mikey Roberts on loan from Whitby Town.
Roberts, still only 25, has signed on a one month loan period which runs up until the last week in February 2017.
Guisborough are hoping that Mikey’s proven firepower – which made him a feared scoring partner with ex-Guisborough star Danny Johnson four seasons ago – will help spearhead Guisborough’s bid to avoid relegation from the Northern League Division One.
Roberts left Guisborough in August 2014 to join Spennymoor Town and finished his first season there as top scorer with 20 goals before joining Whitby Town in July 2015 and also finished top scorer at the Seasiders in his first season.
But this season he has found goals harder to come by and has struggled to hold down a regular first team place with Whitby, so Guisborough and Mikey are both hoping his move to the KGV will re-ignite his proven scoring ability.
